Octavio Paz (México) won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1990, the Miguel de Cervantes Prize for Literature (Spain) in 1981, the Neustadt International Prize for Literature (United States) in 1982, & the Jerusalem Prize for the Freedom of the Individual in Society (Israel) in 1977.
