Description

This General Order provides instructions regarding weekly reports provided to the Headquarters of the Eastern District of Louisiana indicating, among other benchmarks, "how far the population are carrying out the views of the Government in bending to constant employment and industry, and laying the groundwork for their future welfare; or how far they are disposed to be idle and dissolute." By order of Brevet Major General T.W. Sherman via B.B. Campbell, Captain, Assistant Adjutant General. Stained and torn ; 14 x 22 cm. Single page.
