In 2012-2013 she served on the United Nations Standby Team of Mediation Experts. She is a long-time observer of the Colombian peace process, including the talks currently taking place in Havana, the most serious initiative in ten years to try to end the half-century long Colombian armed conflict between the government and FARC guerrillas.
