Born in Dunkirk, NY, USA, pursued a small-town life observed through grand, intense, international lenses. From an early age she was always a passionate and naturally gifted pathfinder. She completed her doctorate at Indiana University, studied classical Greek culture and language in Athens, Western Classics at St. John’s College Santa Fe and Asian cultures at the University of Hawaii. For 45 years Molly taught, led curricular programs and garnered $10 million in grants for environmental, international, intergenerational and non- traditional programs in the US and Colombia, at Drake University, Eckerd College and a network of US institutions. Molly led many international research-study programs emphasizing England and Greece, retracing Classical Greek life paths with students, faculty and senior scholars. She led Eckerd’s London Study Centre, often serving as resident faculty. A charming teacher, voracious reader, fascinating book discussant, nature lover, artist of life; fond of climbing roses, honeysuckle, lavender, crêpe myrtle, columbine, globe thistle, maple, goldfinches, chickadees, scarlet tanagers, pileated woodpeckers and Goddess Athena’s owls. Molly has always been a dear, loving partner, fast friend, staunch supporter, close colleague, mentor and pathfinder to innumerable souls throughout her life and now in her afterlife.
