One of the main topics in the study of topology is the classification and comparison of shapes and surfaces. The 2021 research group focused on the classifications of 2-dimensional non-orientable surfaces without boundaries, building upon their results on the classifications on VnS1 and Tn via symmetry groups in 2020. The students established a relationship between the order of these symmetry groups on Kn (the n-connected sums of the Klein bottles) and Pn (the n-connected sums of projective planes). Their methodology applies to all 1- and 2-dimensional orientable or non-orientable surfaces without boundaries, and is also suitable for higher dimensions.
