One of the UN goals is a better life for all, but in the Global South, many do not experience this human right. Laborers in the Global South are exploited to produce the commodities demanded by the Global North. This global issue is highlighted in Tanzania, as miners of tanzanite experience inhumane mining conditions to benefit the Global North. These miners receive no protective equipment, with 16.1% falling to their deaths while being lowered into the mines. The awareness of this issue is critical for a global partnership between the Global North and South to ensure human rights for all.
