The students in the SPN 402: 17th Century Spain on the Stage class in Fall 2021 contributed original textual analysis to the GALGO database, an open-source digital pedagogical tool. Their entries reflect the application of a social semiotic theory of language to the study of Golden Age theater. The bilingual commentary on the platform showcases the students’ linguistic and cultural versatility as well as their critical analytical skills. Their work has been saved and will be utilized by future GALGO users.
