Elke Erb lives in what used to be East Berlin. She has edited many anthologies and translated Gogol, Blok and other Russian writers. Two of her books have appeared with West German publishers: Einer schreit: Nicht! and Trost. ["Contributor Note" from original publication, 1993.]
